Disney Weekend

This past weekend Josh's work gave us yet another getaway.  This one happened to be very close by in Anaheim, CA at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel with tickets to Disneyland/California Adventure.  Since Josh and I used to have season passes there we decided to share the trip with some people who have never gone, Calista and Christian Carter, accompanied by daddy Rhett :)

The first day we met up for lunch at Downtown Disney, looked at some shops, then headed to the hotel pool.

The hotel terrace had a great view of California Adventure, along with direct access into the park from the hotel which was nice :)

Later that night Josh and I headed to Cali Adv to attend a work dinner... and who did I run into? Kelsie! I knew she would be working that night but it just so happened that she was starting her set right when we walked out of the dinner, perfect timing :) Josh and I got to hang out with Kels a little and watch her Tron dances.

Then AAA had another surprise for us and we were off to watch World of Color, the big show right now.  I was glad we got to see it, it was pretty amazing... but 30 minutes standing still in heels wasn't the best.

The next morning Rhett, Chris, and Calista headed into Disneyland an hour before other guests were allowed in, courtesy of the hotel, and were able to get a majority of the rides in before the crowds!  Josh, Chris, and I ate at the Jazz Kitchen for lunch and now Jumbalaya is my new obbsession, it's very good.

In the afternoon I went with the crew into California adventure to make sure they got some good pictures (Rhett forgot a camera... typical guy ;) heehee)

Later that night Josh and I went to Napa Rose, a restaurant located in our hotel that is famous for its amazing food.  The raves were correct, we loved it.  It was a little pricey, actually a lot pricey, but it was about the only thing we paid for this trip thanks to AAA, so we decided to go for it.  We highly recommend it if your in the mood to spend some ca$h!
 amazing appetizer :)

We had a great time on our nice little weekend trip and were happy to spend time with family we don't normally get to see.  As we were leaving the hotel Josh and I also ran into Brittany Abbot from Santa Maria 3rd Ward!!  It really is a small world... yes that's a Disneyland ride ;)

Dental Hygiene Done For Good

Graduation came and went and it is so strange to have nothing to do.  I have been out of school for two days now, only one of which I actually had free time, and I'm bored already!  I am so used to Go Go Go that I don't know what to do with myself!

I did, however, have the greatest graduation weekend.  My parents came to town and we had so much fun with our "bonuses", as Mom says.  Here is a little of what we did:

Friday:
-Had Cafe Rio for dinner
-Chatted until we were falling asleep

Saturday:
-Had to go to CPK for lunch, Dad needed the Sicilian Thin Crust Pizza
-Took a drive around Long Beach to see some homes and of coarse some "industry", apparently my Dad loves industrial sites, which I never knew... "it makes America"
-Went to At Last Cafe, featured on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" (see video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Zqe6JWIVEA)
 - And topped the night off with seeing the movie Thor, which was surprisingly good!

Sunday:
-Mom made home made pound cake in the morning and cut fresh Santa Maria strawberries
-Went to graduation
Here are some cuties in the audience

 Got some awards :)

- Cafe Rio for dinner
- Went to Mom and Dad's hotel for some dessert, home made strawberry shortcake was amazing!
-took lots of pictures of this cute little thing!

 - and got showered with love from loved ones
Thank You to everyone who made this day so perfect, and a special thanks to those who were able to share this occasion with me, you made it unforgettable!

Monday:
- Ran some errands with the folks
- Did some shopping :)
- Ate Cafe Rio for the third time!!
- Sadly said good-bye to Mom and Dad, I miss them already!

Graduation Party

Saturday night was a night I have been looking forward to since school began... our graduation party!  It was slightly weird to have a graduation party a week before graduation but totally fun regardless :)  It was held at The Reef in downtown Long Beach with amazing views:

The party is for students, faculty, and a plus one if you want.  Josh knows a few husbands of my classmates which was nice for him and me :)  We had great food and great laughs.  Josh was Mr Popular on the dance floor (yes, my peers were a little surprised that he was sober) and had more fun than most people!  Jenn (on the left in the picture below) is quite the dancer and Josh made it his mission to copy her moves all night... very entertaining, haha.

On the Home Front

Outside of school I am beginning to get a life back but my poor hubby has been sick all week.  He ran himself down playing with all the nieces and nephews last weekend that he got sick almost immediately after we got back.  To top it off his boss decided they would have late nights all week so he has been getting home after seven all week long!  When it rains it pours :( But just to prove that he is the best he also brought me flowers Friday night and wanted to go on a date. I just love this lil guy.

Dental Hygiene Weekend

This weekend was full of school activities.  We took our class pictures and went to an open house, then we also took a trip to skid rowe to pass out bags of goodies to homeless people... it was quite the experience.

(a pic of my 2 closest hygiene buddies)

There is a thing called the Green Bag Project that our school participated in where we all donated supplies which were divided up and prepared to be handed out.  We then set a date to head down to LA and pass out these bags.  They do this fairly often so when they see the trucks they KNOW what they are about to receive.  You drive down a street that seems empty and suddenly homeless people come out of the wood works and are everywhere.  We had two truck fulls empty in about ten minutes.  It was somewhat overwhelming but very rewarding. Everyone was so grateful to receive this small gift.  I have never heard  "God Bless You" so many times :) There was one particularly populated street that we turned down where there were tons of homeless people around and when they saw us they started running for the trucks... not going to lie this made me a little nervous!! But all they wanted was those bags! They knew they would be gone soon and they were.  I was sad we couldn't give something to everyone but the experience also made me really grateful for all I have.

Us in the truck with a bunch of goody bags!
