Lady Antebellum @ Mid-State Fair

July 28th was the Lady Antebellum Concert at the Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles.  This has been a family tradition for my dad and I for about 7 years now.  This year my friend Jackie from hygiene school was able to make the trip up with me.  And we all had a fun time although it was too short!

Licensed!

On July 8th I was issued my dental hygiene license!  I was extremely excited because this meant I had passed State Boards and was done with all my testing... but I was a little "not excited" because I wasn't expecting to get my license for about three more weeks and this meant I had no excuse to not job hunt.  So I was thrown into the search a little early and was thoroughly disappointed with the job market.  There were almost no listings on any websites, the temp agencies weren't getting any calls, and the pay being offered was much less than I was expecting.  I went through a break down moment about three days into my hunt because I felt that it was hopeless.  Little did I know that I would get a job within a week and a half or getting my license at a really great office!  I have been working Mondays and Wednesdays in Long Beach with Tuesdays adding in September.  It has been really great so far and I love being a real dental hygienist :)

4th of July

I was so excited for all the happenings in July that I forgot to blog.  So here is me back tracking.

For the fourth of July weekend, Megan and Ryan invited us to Ryan's family cabin up at Shaver Lake (kinda near Fresno).  We drove up Friday night and got to the cabin in time to find a tarantula in the tub!  The boys insist it wasn't a tarantula just a really large spider... but they were both scared of it too, and it wouldn't drown!  I had some dry heaves over that one.  After we got over our scare we decided to stay up all night playing games :)

This is the cute cabin and the crew

When we finally got our butts up and moving we headed out for a hike.  Megan brought her bug proof head net, lol.  I enjoyed it too, haha

The scenery was gorgeous and the weather was just a little hot.

We did go through the largest swarm of lady bugs I ever thought possible.  Josh made friends with them and had about 7 landing on him at a time... this is how we found out that lady bugs bite! EWW... and everyone thinks they are cute and harmless, don't be fooled.

We brought lunch and ate it right here by the river.

On the way out Megan wanted to show us all how to get through the thick mud.  I believe she said "Just go like this, Boop, Boop, Ughh" as she sunk into the mud up to her shins!! I almost peed my pants.

The next day we went to the lake to see the fireworks show.

Thanks Megan and Ryan for the great trip full of laughs and memories!
